Shinjuku is famous of it's skyscraper district, and the famous Tokyo Metropolitan Office, architectured by Kenzo Tange. Shinjuku is literally the "new town" of Tokyo, and it has Tokyo's leading and most famous hotels such as Park Hyatt (the one in Lost in Translation movie) and Keio Plaza.

Shinjuku Station is the world's busiest railway station. Several lines meet here, such as the Yamanote Line, Chuo-Sobu, Shonan-Shinjuku Line, Saikyo Line, and Keio and Tokyo Metro's Marunouchi line. Also several express trains leave from Shinjuku, and it is possible to board a highway bus from Shinjuku station.

Still it is relatively difficult to get lost in Shinjuku station because the signs are so well placed. The underground passages will take you to the Sky Scraper district and various shops. Those who work there, can enter the lifts literally without setting a foot outside.

Shinjuku is famous of it's nightlife and it's entertainment area Kabukicho. Many love hotels and entertainment bars and clubs are there. Kabukicho is little notorious area because Chinese mafia is known to operate there.

Another interesting place in Shinjuku would be the Shinjuku 2-Chome, a famous gay district. There is saying "no person is wasted in Shinjuku 2-chome" meaning that everyone will find a lover there.

Just in a walking distance from Shinjuku is Shin-Okubo, famous of it's Korean town with many Korean restaurants. The other side is the Yoyogi, where is the famous Yoyogi Park.
