Omni Sight Seeing

I had a great pleasure to find new records from the library which is located nearby my apartment. One of these great discoveries was Haruomi Hosono's "Omni Sight Seeing". The music on the record is very unordinary and has pretty same kind of attitude as Dido's Ksana. But it is a bit more contemporary.

However, the music takes influences from many many sources; pop music, as well as traditional music played with accordion.

"at time like this
the plague spreads when Mammon comes
Muse gotta go
Gaia quivers
the Earth quakes
you can't win, you must lose
and there's no way out of the game"

It's impossible to categorize this music in any other way than "extraordinary". Hosono's touch is very impressive and free, and especially the track "Orgone box" left permanent effect on me. And there is even the legendary, "The Caravan" which is originally a song of Duke Ellington.

The music has been composed using a lot of different kinds of sounds; the final impression feels very modern and cute

The modern and very free touch of these compositions feel pretty similar to the Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto who also belonged to YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra) with Mr. Hosono.

Very good and inspiring music, and Miharu Koshi's presence can be noticed in the interesting artistic attitude.

Good & amusing experience!
