Morning Musume

Morning Musume is perhaps the very embodiment of J-POP. This group sold 50 000 copies of their demo single "Seed of Love" in 1997. Everyone knows them in Japan and they are very popular abroad too. There are official fan clubs in Hong Kong, South Korea and Hawaii, and J-POP fans all over the world are most likely aware of them. They are sometimes called as Momusu.

Morning Musume is composed of nine members (as of 2008), Takahashi Ai, Niigaki Risa, Kamei Eri, Tanaka Reina, Michishige Ayumi, Kusumi Koharu, Mitsui Aika, and Chinese members Li Chun, and Qian Lin.

The group was originally put together by Japanese producer Tsunku in 1997, by a massive popular event on Japanese TV show Asayan.

They have released nine albums. It's funny the albums names have the order number in which they are released. In addition to the long plays, they have released 39 singles, apparently for airtime on radios.
