Recently I went to onsen ryokan with my wife and her friend. When walking back to the inn from the spa, she was startled by a rather big spider on the roof.
She cried, "Oh I can't go!". And she requested that the spider will be removed.

Have a laptop or one of those cool iPod touch devices and want to use free internet? In Japan there are various wifi hot spots, and some of them are open for the public. This site has map of them. I'm not sure how fresh this information is.

Just be careful with security settings as open wifi is not the safest way to connect.
