Tokyo Kokusai Kuko, also known as Haneda Airport is the second of the two primary airports in Greater Tokyo Area. Haneda Airport, unlike it's larger cousin Narita Airport, is in more close vicinity to Tokyo, and it is possible to take a monorail there.

Although Haneda has two international services, is mostly domestic terminal. It's international flights are only to Seoul and Shanghai.

The history of Haneda airport is interesting. The Haneda Airfield was opened in 1931. During that time, it soon became the main base of Japan Air Transport. Haneda was the place where you could fly to Korea and Manchuria.

But in 1945, US Occupation Forces took over, and Haneda Airfield became Haneda Army Air Base. The army evicted many nearby residents while constructing the military base larger. During 1947, Haneda started it's first international flights, with Northwest Orient Airlines, later known as (Northwest Airlines). European carriers began their service to Haneda in the early 1950's.

During Tokyo Olympics in 1964, the Tokyo Monorail began their service between central Tokyo and Haneda airport.

Haneda Airport has three terminals. Terminal 1 and 2 are connected by underground walkway, and the third, international terminal is served by a shuttle.
