Attention Please
Jul 10th, 2007, 11:50pm

Is my all time favorite Japanese drama EVER. The main character is the beautiful, young actress Ueto Aya. I'm sure some of you have heard of her and/or have seen her act in a few other dramas she played role in.

In this drama, Ueto Aya plays the role of an energetic, outgoing, punk(ish) girl named Misaki Yoko. Yoko is a slightly boyish girl who is bullheaded and hates dishonesty.
(Those are just a few labels.)

Losing her mother at a young age, Misaki Yoko (Ueto Aya) was raised amongst three brothers.  Ever since she was young, she enjoyed the company of boys over girls. She starts a band with four of her boy friends and becomes the lead singer. Then one day, one of the members of the band, Tsukasa, gets a job at a bank in Tokyo. Due to Tsukasa leaving town, the band breaks up and though Yoko finds herself lonely, she puts on a strong act in front of Tsukasa. She can't tell Tsukasa how she truly feels for him. On the day Tsukasa leaves for Tokyo, Yoko goes along with the band members to the airport to see him off. The guys get excited when they see some cabin crew ladies and Yoko has no idea why. She reminds them that even she can wear a uniform, but the guys only make fun of her. That's when Tsukasa tells Yoko he wonders what she'd look like dressed in uniform. This is when Yoko decides she wants to work as a Cabin Attendant. <-- Borrowed from Crunchyroll because my review was short and horrible.

A picture of Ueto Aya:

So has anyone in Hanami Web watched this drama?
Or heard of Ueto Aya?

Thanks for reading!

I've seen it, it was fun to see a funny series after all my really sad doramas I had been watching.
It was a nice series but if you want to see another really hilarious series I recommend Nodame Cantabile with Juri Ueno,

Grin Grin THAT'S MY FAVORITE PART TOO!! Kikuno, you're the best! ^^

That drama sounds interesting, I'll check it out now since only 2 episodes have been aired.

Here are some dramas I have watched and have given a perfect 5 stars!

1 litre of tears
Beautiful Life
100 Days with Mr. Arrogant
Dragon Zakura
Nobuta wo Produce
Sapuri
Taiyou No Uta
King's Man - Korean
See You After School - Movie (Comedy)
About Love - Movies (Taipei, Tokyo, Shanghai)
Apartment (Horror)
Gangster High - Movie (Action)
My Sassy Girl - Movie - Korean

^^

EDIT: I watched the first episode of that drama you recommended. I really like it so far, it's definitely funny. I looked for a subbed version of episode 2, and couldn't find it. I'm guessing episode 2 hasn't been subbed yet? Well, I'll just have to wait since I can't watch the RAW version; I don't know Japanese.

I litre of tears cry it should be renamed 100 litres of tears because I cried so much.
I prefered the movie version of Taiyou No Uta , Yui was surprisingly good.
Now my favourites: I have too many
Nobuta wo produce Smiley
Kimi wa petto ( I liked it better then Sapuri)
engine, it's such a wonderful story and Kimutaku is kind of cool here , Nodame Cantabile
Unfair,Haken no hinkaku both with the gorgeus Ryoko Shinohara
Kamisama mou sukoshi dake
Bad couple and Bad family
Hwang Jin Yi
Que sera sera
Goong(my first kdrama that I finished)
jikou keisatsu (Kumiko Aso and Joe Odagiri both are so hilarious)
Actually I think Aya should maybe stick more to comedy, I've watched 7 episodes of hotelier and unfortunately it's not very good.
King's Man or the King and the clown it's such a great movie.
I've become obsessed with Lee Jun-Ki afterwards, how can a man be that pretty!!!
About love is such a nice movie, my favourite part was Shanghai.

Yeah it really should be renamed 100 litre of tears. This is one of the few dramas that actually made me cry more than once. The ending is what killed me.. man that was sad.

I never saw the movie version of Taiyou No Uta. Sad I might check it out some time when I have the time. I really enjoyed the drama version with Erika. She's a great actress and I really enjoyed her 'song to the sun'.

Nobuta Wo Produce was great, I loved that drama. Yamapi made me laugh throughout the whole drama. I really liked his goofy personality because I can kinda relate to it. Ha-ha. Kami and Maki were great as well.

Lee Jun-Ki really is pretty, huh? He has a nice voice. I really enjoyed his acting in the movie King's Man. I can see why they picked him for the movie.

Most of the dramas you have listed I have heard of, but I never really watched. I'll add these to my view list. Tongue CheesyCheesy

My favorite part was Shanghai, too. Smiley

P.S:.: I noticed I can't modify my first post, how come?

Now I would like to see the movie he made in Japan with Aoi Miyazaki, it looks like a nice movie with a good story.
I love the song from The king and the clown, In Yeon (Lee Seon-Hee)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ze3J7IFsgRM&mode=related&search=
Have you seen Sexy voice and robo ? it's such a funny series.
And for more serious dramas I would say Watashitachi no kyokasho surprised me (positively) it deals with serious subjects such a bullying.
14sai no haha was also excellent.
I don't see what's wrong with you not able to modify your post Shocked
but I'll check.
Have you seen Hula girls ? I really liked it Wink

The movie with Lee Jun-Ki and Aoi Miyazaki is called Virgin snow. kiss
It had it's premiere in Japan in may.
“Virgin Snow” is a story about a high school student named Min (played by Lee), who goes to Japan to study and falls in love with a young girl named Naname (played by Miyazaki), whose melancholic personality captivates his heart."
Install, I know it's based on a book I had some problems with it myself but someone explained it like this:
the movie explores the cyberworld of internet sex chats, and suggests things that we all know of cyberworld - you might not be who you are represented online. Am I talking to a hot young chick? Probably. But chances are that it could turn out to be a balding fat gay man pretending to be a hot young chick. Huh
Hula girls is another nice japanese movie, I saw it a while ago and I really like it.
The whole cast is fantastic and there is this spectacular dance scene in the end.

Virgin Snow.. thanks. I'll be sure to check out the movie. I would really like to see Lee Jun-Ki act in another movie. And this movie sounds very interesting, so it'd be perfect.

Thanks for explaining Install for me. That was a very interesting movie.. it was definitely something new and out of the ordinary.

I wonder why it's just us two participating in this thread. I know everyone else has read our conversation (241 views) and have watched dramas before. I am interested to read what everyone has watched.

Well anyways, thanks for all your recommendations. Do you watch horror movies? I enjoy Asian horror movies, so I would be happy if you recommended a few horror movies as well. Smiley

EDIT: Can you tell me where I can watch Virgin Snow with subtitles, Kikuno? I can't find it on Veoh, YouTube or Crunchyroll.  Sad

hmmm, horror movies. To be honest I'm scared of watching them Sad
I watched Ringu and I did not even dare to watch tv after that. I still watch them though I don't know why Grin
Well the Ringu movies were quite good, Ju-on was not as scary as I expected at all.
But a movie I recommend is not a horror movie but more of a psychological thriller called Shinku.
It's about the relationship between a young woman who's family was murdered when she was young and the murderers daughter.
I'd like to see more series and movies but at the moment I don't have the possibility because I don't have a own computer(I have to borrow my brothers when he lets me)
Maybe the others are just shy Smiley

He-he.. The Ring. I didn't find that movie to be so scary. But that is probably because I'm used to watching horror movie and I do not get scared very easily.

Well, it's okay that you have no horror flicks to recommend. Smiley

Shy? Hmm.. maybe. I don't see why they are shy though.. oh well. Tongue

So.. umm.. Kikuno.. do you know where I can watch Virgin Snow? Sad

Ring, ring ring..
I really thought the movie wasn't so great, but it became frenchise anyway.
By the way, I really like Masato Harada's movies. Today I got two Japanese VHS tapes, Kamikaze Taxi and another movie, Shall We Dance. I will have so good time watching them.

Still Hirokazu Koreeda and Naomi Kawase continue to be my number one directors from Japan.
I am dying to see Kawase's Cannes prized movie. September.. maybe..
It would be too much to ask my Japanese friends to send me it.

Or then I could make contract with the distributors to review the movies in Hanami Web and they could provide me the proper pre-release DVD boxes of the titles..

Now back to study basics of kendo.. and then movie pre-production work..
