Arubaito

The word comes from the German arbeit. Arubaito means part-time work, usually by students. It is very common for students to take a part time job at the same time as university tuitions are expensive in Japan. Especially the students who live independently from their parents are often working as convenience store clerk or fast food shops.

Common arubaito pays somewhere between 600-1000 yen per hour.
